March Of Dimes – Drive Through Parade

March Of Dimes – Drive Through Parade

April 30th i had the pleasure of participating in the March Of Dimes – SC drive through parade.

March of Dimes is a United States nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies. “We believe that every baby deserves the best possible start. Unfortunately, not all babies get one. We are changing that.”

During the drive through we were given a scavenger hunt that taught us a bit more about March of Dimes and why is so important for their initiative to be alive.

A premature baby may look tiny and fragile to touch but don’t underestimate the courage, strength, and determination of a baby born too soon.

I stand with all moms and parents who are taking action to help provide better care, awareness and resiliency to child birth 🤰🏾💖

Transition Homeless Center Silent Auction

Transition Homeless Center Silent Auction

I’ve had the honor of being a dedicated volunteer with Transitions Homeless Center for almost 2 years! April 8th I had the privilege of being invited to @transitionssc ‘s silent auction hosted by Catherine Beltran – Volunteer Coordinator✨😇⁣

I’m so happy that being in the @northamericabeautypageant system I’ve been able to network with inspiring people such as Catherine. We collaborate as we work towards being more impactful in our homeless community. 🤲🏾🏡⚒️⁣

To volunteer, to be a spokeswoman & to start leading productive classes at @transitionssc is so fulfilling 🦋💫⁣

Black History Month

Black History Month

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history.

In 1915 after the 13th amendment abolished slavery in the U.S Harvard-trained historian Carter G. Woodson and minister Jesse E. Moorland founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH), an organization dedicated to researching and promoting achievements by Black Americans and other peoples of African descent.

As we are approaching the end of what society considers ‘Black History Month” – black history should always be celebrated and recognized all 12 months of the year.

It’s important to recognize, appreciate and show gratitude to those who came before us and the sacrifices made.

Below are some links to different articles you can read to further the discussion of black history and what it really means. – I encourage you to do your own research too.

Happy Thanks GIVING

Happy Thanks GIVING

Happy Thanks-GIVING friends 🎉🌟⁣

In the spirit of giving thanks and keeping gratitude in our hearts during this moment – I took time to gather canned goods for a blessing box I’ve been fortunate enough to donate too a couple of times this year.☑️⁣

I’ve been reflecting on this pass year and how appreciative i am to have family and a place to celebrate the holidays, so I wanted to pay it forward 🌟⁣

I encourage / challenge you to donate, give or volunteer during this time if you’re fortunate enough to. There are so many organizations and people who would be more than thankful for your help❤️💐⁣

Toys For Tots Pageant Fundraiser

Toys For Tots Pageant Fundraiser

Ms Cheryl LM’s Toys for Tots benefit pageant was this past Saturday and it had a great turn out despite this pandemic! The girls and ladies competing were amazing!

I was asked to come along a be a judge amongst the other amazing queens i got to meet. Judging can be difficult however, knowing that the winner would carry on the mission for The Marine Corp League/Harnett Toys for Tots in this yearly fundraiser made choosing the winner that much more meaningful.

A big congratulations to our overall ultimate winner. I know she will go on to do amazing things for this fundraiser!

Reading With Royalty

Reading With Royalty

So honored i was able to read for @ReadingWithRoyalty_ this past weekend.

Reading With Royalty is a outlet where different pageant queens can read to children in hospitals virtually!

I was able to read the book, ‘The Class Play’ by Robert Newell. I chose this book because the moral of this story was to show children that they should be grateful for the things they have and are chosen for.

Is the grass really greener on the other side? Sometimes exactly where you are is where you need to be.

Education is so important and I’m happy i can still promote literacy during COVID-19.

Thanks for listening .

The Gables at Cobb Village

The Gables at Cobb Village

I had the lovely pleasure of being with my teen for North America (@missteenna) at the ⁣The Gables at Cobb Village 👩🏿‍⚕️👩🏾‍⚕️

With social distancing and safety precautions taking place we were able to sit down and talk with some of the lovely residents and put a smile on their face despite the odds with COVID.

I got to talk more in detail about myself, the behind the scenes of winning the title and what it means to me while also discussing how I plan to make a difference.

It was very fulfilling. ⁣🙏🏾

Also getting some quality hang out time with Alex and getting to know her more was a nice plus 💗⁣

(for those who are concerned; mask were taken off for photos but were worn around residents and for the safety of others.) 😊

Spreading Positivity During COVID-Crisis

Spreading Positivity During COVID-Crisis

South Carolina has definitely become a hot spot for the rise of the covid crisis happening around us. This means our health care workers are laboring tirelessly to keep people healthy while risking their own lives. They are honestly the true heroes.⁣

So on behalf of some of my @northamericabeautypageant sisters @officialelitenorthamerica ( @marylynnfuller )and @jrmissna ( @adriana_maliamay ) and myself, we decided to collaborate and make thank you cards for these awesome people.⁣

With deepest sincerity, I want to thank you all for risking your lives for us day in and day out. Front line workers like you deserve our respect, encouragement, and praise for doing what you do. Thank you! ⁣

Although I wasn’t aloud (with great understanding) to visit the hospital itself, I gave everything to Diane, the liaison and I trust they’re in good hands to hand off to our South Carolinas heroes.⁣

⁣if there is any way i can try to spread good energy during this time, i will. Everyone around us deserves it.
Stay safe guys 💚⁣
